The Book of Revelation , Everald Brown

GARNER Arts Center is proud to once again present JONATHAN DEMME: Collecting with Abandon . The exhibition features works from this extraordinary collection of Haitian, Island and Outsider art. Originally on view in Building 35. Remounted in GARNER’s Frank Welles Studio gallery. Jonathan’s introduction to Haitian art was through a small storefront gallery on the upper west side of Manhattan in the mid ‘80’s. His love of the art led him to making his first of countless trips to Haiti in 1986. In addition to the art, he fell in love with the country. He made several documentaries in Haiti, most notably a film on activist and radio journal ist, Jean Dominique entitled “The Agronomist”. -Joanne Howard
